The Daily Standup (also called Daily Scrum) is a short daily meeting — typically 15 minutes — where development team members synchronize activities, discuss progress, and identify impediments. Each person answers three questions: What did I do yesterday? What will I do today? What is blocking me?

The standup is for the development team, not for management reporting. The Scrum Master may facilitate but should not dominate. The meeting should be held at the same time and place every day to establish rhythm and minimize coordination overhead.

The standup is not a problem-solving meeting — detailed discussions should be taken offline. If an impediment is identified, the Scrum Master takes ownership of resolving it. The standup keeps everyone aligned and ensures issues surface quickly before they become crises.
